Q The Locals 2027/28

We’re inviting local creatives to be part of our 2027/28 Q the Locals seasons – a unique opportunity to develop and present bold, original work as part of The Q’s program.

Q the Locals has been running since 2022, and has staged 13 full productions, hosted 8 developments, supported over 100 artists, and invested close to 150k in local creative development.

Our productions have gone on to be published, head off on tour both regionally and overseas, and been programmed in the Adelaide Fringe.

In 2027/28, we’re looking for shows that haven’t been staged locally before: this could be a brand new work, a fresh reinvention of a classic, or a project still in development – whether it’s a draft script, a cabaret-in-progress, or the early spark of an idea.

We’re especially excited by proposals that activate non-traditional or unexpected spaces beyond the theatre stage!
