Join us for a development showing of Joanna Richards’ new play Lifeboat, supported by our Q The Locals program!

Two daughters are struggling to take care of their mother who suffers with dementia, at odds about whether or not they are still adequately able to care for her by themselves, or whether she needs to be moved into assisted living. After their mother starts telling them a series of fantastical stories, the lines between reality and delusion are blurred.

There are 8500 people over 65 in the Queanbeyan Palerang Region, and nearly 30% of the community are caring for people, either in their families or through volunteer organisations. A gut-wrenching comedy about love, care, and story-telling, Lifeboat is a love song to carers.
